Interests:

The Liu Group aims to advance the next-generation optoelectronic materials and devices for applications in energy, sensing, and information technologies. We focus on developing high-throughput methods to create thin-film semiconductors and transform them into electronic devices. This includes the use of metal halide perovskites, nanostructured and quantized materials, as well as hybrid systems for the design of photodetectors, solar cells, LEDs, and lasers. Through time-resolved optical techniques, we explore the electronic and structural dynamics in materials across a wide range of length and time scales, and leverage these understandings to enable novel device concepts and push device performance to the limit.
