Interests:

My research is directed at development, validation and application of non-invasive imaging approaches for the assessment of cardiovascular pathophysiology, including; targeted molecular assessment of myocardial ischemia, angiogenesis, arteriogenesis, atrial and ventricular remodeling, and peripheral artery disease. This translational research employs the 3–D modalities of SPECT/CT, PET/CT, X-ray computed tomography (CT), fluoroscopy and cone-beam CT, echocardiography, and MR imaging in both patients and a wide range of animal models, including rodent and large animal models. My laboratory is currently focused on the evaluation of the intramyocardial delivery of theranostic hydrogels to the heart for prevention of post infarction cardiac remodeling, and application of targeted imaging of integrins and matrix metalloproteinases in evaluation of cardiac remodeling. I co-direct a T32 grant for “Training in multi-modality molecular and translational cardiovascular imaging”.  My laboratory is developing and applying multimodality cardiovascular and molecular imaging in pre-clinical and translational research, and first-in-human studies.
