Richard Carson Receives Yale 2023 Graduate Mentor Award

06/02/2023

Richard Carson, professor of biomedical engineering and radiology and biomedical imaging, was named the recipient of the Yale Graduate School's 2023 Graduate Mentor Award, the University's principal honor for superb teaching, advising, and mentoring of graduate students.

The Graduate Mentor Award recognizes faculty members who are exceptional in fostering the intellectual, professional, and personal development of their students. The award was presented at this year's Graduate School Convocation Ceremony at the Yale University Art Gallery.

Each year graduate students nominate dissertation advisors and other faculty for their advising and support, and the honorees are chosen by a committee of students and faculty, in coordination with the Yale Graduate School's Dean's Office.

In addition to being a prolific researcher and director of the Yale PET Center at the School of Medicine, Carson has served for many years as the Director of Graduate Studies for the Department of Biomedical Engineering.
