Mingjiang Zhong Named 2022 Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar

Mingjiang Zhong, assistant professor of chemical and environmental engineering and chemistry, is among 18 honorees across the nation selected as a 2022 Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar. Selected by the Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation, Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholars receive an unrestricted $100,000 research grant.

Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholars “are within the first five years of their academic careers, have each created an outstanding independent body of scholarship, and are deeply committed to education.”

Zhong was cited for his work in “rapid access to diversified polymer properties through microstructure engineering.” His overall research focuses on new synthetic methods for the preparation of functional organic materials and organic-inorganic interfaces, polymeric and polymer-derived carbon materials for energy, catalysis, and environmental applications; and combining sophisticated molecular design and analysis techniques to understand complex soft matter behaviors.
