Jay Humphrey, the John C. Malone Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Chair, recently delivered two inaugural lectures at universities in Belgium.
Speaking as the 2017-2018 Collen-Francqui Chair, Humphrey spoke last month at Ghent University on “Biomechanics of Vascular Aging and Disease.” The same week, he spoke at KU Leuven on “Biomechanics of Aortic Aneurysms and Dissections.” At both universities, he also delivered five course lectures on biomechanics.
One researcher at KU Leuven called the lectures “a unique opportunity to see how engineering principles can be put to use in the exciting and highly relevant area of cardiovascular disease, brought to you by the leading authority in this research area.”
