Congratulations to the Yale SEAS Class of 2021

Members of the Yale School of Engineering & Applied Science community celebrated the awarding of 199 undergraduate Engineering degrees Monday.

Degrees in Applied Physics were conferred upon 6 members of the Class of 2021; in Biomedical Engineering, 25 degrees; in Chemical Engineering, 14 degrees; in Computer Science, 114 degrees; in Electrical Engineering, 6 degrees; in Environmental Engineering, 7 degrees; and in Mechanical Engineering, 27 degrees.

In an address to the Class of 2021, School of Engineering & Applied Science Dean Jeffrey Brock noted that despite the obstacles presented by the pandemic, the graduates should be proud that they adapted and persevered.

"Not only did you shine academically, but you excelled in areas outside of the classroom," he said. "Research, design, in sports, in the arts, by volunteering at charitable organizations, by tutoring at local schools, and a myriad of other activities. Your sense of mission and purpose is clear."

Dean Brock also announced Lincoln Berkley, a electrical engineering and computer science major, as the winner of the Henry Prentiss Becton Senior Prize, awarded by the Dean of Engineering to a senior for rewarding and encouraging outstanding student performance.
