4th International Conference on Packing Problems
4th International Conference on Packing Problems Problems
Prof. Corey O'Hern, from the Departments of Mechanical Engineering & Materials Science, Applied Physics, and Physics, is organizing the "4th International Conference on Packing Problems" at Yale University during the week of June 3, 2019. This conference follows the three very successful prior packing conferences (2016 3rd International Conference on Packing Problems, Shanghai, China; 2014 Jam-Packed Conference on Packing and Jamming of Particulate Systems, Erlangen, Germany; 2012 International Workshop on Packing Problems, Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland) that have been held every 2-3 years since 2012.
The conference will include more than 35 invited presentations and a number of contributed talks. The conference will span five days and will feature a range of topics including packing and flows in granular media, packings of non-spherical particles, unjamming and jamming, metallic and colloidal glasses, gels, droplets, foams, and emulsions, tissue morphogenesis, cell packing in tumors, and protein structure.
