Anjelica Gonzalez Lab Selected NAVBO's "Lab of the Month"

04/17/2019

The North American Vascular Biology Organization (NAVBO) has chosen the laboratory of Anjelica Gonzalez as its “Lab of the Month.”

Gonzalez, the Donna L. Dubinsky Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering, focuses on the development of biomaterials for the investigation of immunological responses to inflammatory signals.

Taking a multi-disciplinary approach, the Gonzalez lab combines organic chemistry, molecular biology, and image analysis to develop biomimetic scaffolds to dissect the role of microvascular pericytes in the human immunological process.

With the mission of promoting the study of vascular biology, NAVBO provides a forum for vascular biologists who are either in the traditional basic science disciplines (structural/molecular biology, cell biology, physiology) or studying the pathogenesis and treatment of human disease in disciplines such as medicine, pathology, surgery. The society provides a forum for members to share information related to the scientific field of vascular biology, and ensure the translation of knowledge from basic science to clinical practice.
