Aaron Dollar Invited to Jeff Bezos' Exclusive Innovations Conference

Aaron Dollar, associate professor of mechanical engineering & materials science, was among the attendees last week at Mars, an exclusive three-day conference organized by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.

From the New York Times: “For Mars, Amazon and Mr. Bezos handpick the roughly 200 attendees, most from the fields of artificial intelligence, robotics and space. There are astronauts, philosophers, rocket scientists, Nobel prize winners and gravitational-wave astrophysicists."

Topics of presentations included new techniques to study black holes, computer chips implanted in brains to treat Parkinson’s disease, and wearable technology to help people with disabilities get up from chairs.

Dollar, described by the New York times as an “up-and-coming roboticist,” was among the attendees who flew in aerobatic planes at the conference.
