Yale’s Biomedical Engineering program offers the B.S. in Biomedical Engineering degree which prepares students for graduate studies in engineering and medicine, as well as careers in the Biomedical Engineering industry and other fields.
Examples of typical course sequences for the Class of 2014 and subsequent classes are presented below. Consultation with the program’s Director of Undergraduate Studies is expected to ensure the correct courses are taken by each enrolled student.

B.S. in Biomedical Engineering Typical Course Sequence
(Course Sequence for students with one year of Calculus, for the Class of 2014 and subsequent classes)
This program requires 11 technical term courses beyond the 10 prerequisite courses (MATH 112, MATH 115, ENAS 151 (or MATH 120), ENAS 194, PHYS 180, PHYS 181, PHYS 205, PHYS 206, CHEM 112 (or CHEM 114 or CHEM 118), and MCDB 120).
For students that enter Yale with the equivalent of one year of calculus in high school, a typical B.S. in Biomedical Engineering degree curriculum might include the following engineering specific courses in partial fulfillment of the thirty-six courses and distributional requirements of Yale College:

- Bioimaging track electives: BENG 410 – Bioimaging & Biosensing, 421 – Medical Imaging, 436 – Biophotonics & Optical Microscopy, 445 – Biomedical Image Processing & Analysis, 449 – Biomedical Data Analysis, 475 – Computational Vision; EENG 310 – Signals & Systems.
